View from our home

As the evening twilight song of the Cicadas has begun to quiet down and the day light is getting shorter, it's the signs of the summer season coming to an end.  It's late and the 3 musketeers are sleeping.  A late night craving for something sweet has the kitchen full of the comforting aroma of coffee.

It seems like the perfect time for an update.  Here's whats new..

At JESUS Film

Since the Embera JESUS movie translation back in February, we have been receiving inspiring reports. Leaders in the villages and churches have been showing the film and seeing incredible results.

Recently we got this update from our Wycliffe friends Chaz and Helga Mortensen, who helped translate the New Testament and assisted with the script for the JESUS film in the Embera language:

"Thank you all so much for praying for the showing of the JESUS film at the Embera general congress Saturday night. At the moment we can give you a third person account: about 500 people stayed after the political proceedings to watch the film. As of Monday morning, Armerico and Eufemio were still in the village where the congress was held talking with people about questions they had regarding the film. We hope to get a fuller report soon."

Now that makes our hearts sing!
Ticuna Girl
Over the summer months a team headed to the borders of Colombia and Brazil to record JESUS for the Ticuna people group.  This native tribe from the rain forests of South America has a population of over 55,000 through out Brazil, Colombia and Peru.
Now they will have the opportunity to not only hear the good news of the bible but hear and see Jesus speak to them personally in their heart language.  Praise! " Jesus speaks Ticuna."

A little on us.....

Our journey with the ministry started a little over a year ago.  For 9 months we have been blessed with the incredible opportunity of working full time on building our necessary funding.  We'd be lying if we said we never had frustrations or long days.  However most days, our job feels more like a dream; it is something that we are passionate about.

We are extremely grateful for it!  Everyday our faith grows; whether it's over funding or some other means of dependence.  HE can be seen every step of the way.

It's rewarding to stay in touch with the people who are encouraging us, praying for us and faithfully giving.  Daily we stop and praise God for the chance to use our gifts and answer a call to do something meaningful.  The bottom line..... THANK YOU...... thank you for believing in us, but most of all for acting upon your faith and investing in eternal things.

On the home front....

It was a summer full of visitors from Venezuela.  First Edgar's mom and sister enjoyed Orlando and the kids for 1 month.  Then a few weeks later Edgar's dad and his family came for a 3 week stay.  What a blessing for us as we have not been to Venezuela in 4 years!

The 3 musketeers
Morgan and Blake are enjoying school and making new friends.  A little to their disappointment we are taking a break from baseball and softball this fall season.

Micaela is 10 months old and is taking her first steps!  Her big brother and sister delight in her and it's simply wonderful to watch the 3 together.

Keep us in your prayers.....
  • Prayers for patience as we greatly desire to be fully funded and able to get to the field and our assignment in Latin America. (Acts 20:35)
  • For favor as we meet with individuals, churches and groups to share our work and invite them to be a part of the ministry by receiving the blessing of giving. (Malachi 3:10)
  • Let's keep praying for Latin America as there are many people groups/ethnic groups that still have not heard or seen Jesus speak their language. (Revelations 7:9)

Thanks for following our journey as we continue to work hard to make  the Bible available in an audio visual in all the languages of the world.

Edgar, Melanie, Morgan, Blake & Micaela!
